An increasing number of Coaches, Speakers and Trainers are embracing the value of having a web presence for their business, whether via Facebook, Twitter, Websites or Blogs. There are so many ways that small business owners can get their Websites up and running today. You can have a website designer build pages in HTML for you; use any of the pre-made services available through your hosting provider; or you can create your website on one of the myriad of publishing platforms that are available today. As a service provider, my favorite publishing platform is WordPress. You may be familiar with WordPress as a blog; however, WordPress is much more than that. It is a Content Management System (CMS) that you can use without having any coding knowledge. As such, you are able to perform your own Website updates. This includes changing text and even uploading images, videos and audio to your site. Once you are able to get over the small learning curve you will find WordPress to be the right combination of expandability and ease-of-use for you. Here are 3 of the 10 reasons you should be using WordPress for your coaching business website:
1. Painless Editing
WordPress has become so popular because the platform is very user-friendly. Adding and editing your content has never been easier. By the click of a button WordPress will create a new page or blog post for your site. If you can use Microsoft Word, then you can use the WordPress editor because they are similar. Hence, you don’t have to wait for your web designer to make simple updates to your copy – huge time and cost savings for you!
2. Easily Upload Audio/Video
With so many Coaches, Speakers and Trainers using video and audio to promote their businesses, WordPress makes it incredibly easy to add audio and or video to your website. No need to have coding knowledge to do this.
3. Perform Your Website Updates from Anywhere
You can update your site from anywhere because WordPress operates within your web browser (Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, and FireFox). If you can’t get to a computer you can access a WordPress app for your Android or I-Phone. As such, you no longer have to worry about not getting that urgent update to your clients because you are travelling.
In my next post I will share with you 7 more reasons you should be using WordPress.
